Task_ The task we where given was to bring in a range of materials that display print techniques that we like i have brought in a range of materials that display the use of beautiful stock and beautiful print techniques such as blind de bossing embossing spot varnish and foiling there are all print techniques that i have already experimented with or plan on doing so in the future.
We where then asked to look into logo designs that where related to our chosen subject and then go onto dissect these logo designs picking out key features, I feel that all the logos follow the same direction of using the green colour to reflect a feeling of health,
Green is the color of nature. It symbolizes growth, harmony, freshness, and fertility. Green has strong emotional correspondence with safety.
Green has great healing power. It is the most restful color for the human eye; it can improve vision. Green suggests stability and endurance.
Yellow-green can indicate sickness, cowardice, discord, and jealousy.
Aqua is associated with emotional healing and protection.
Olive green is the traditional colour of peace.
I feel that the use of the negative space is highly effective in creating a design that is more appealing to the younger generation, i feel he aspect of creativity is appealing to the younger generation also the use of sans serif typefaces is effective in targeting the younger generation.
The logo design that is shown on the top right of the packaging is in my opinion designed to look traditional and organic this is for the representation of the product it is packaging, Again the colour green is used to represent freshness and organic feel.
The sans serif type face is appealing to the younger generation it gives of a modern feel, in my opinion this is the most effective logo design i have found in terms of targeting the younger generation. The combination of the greens represents freshness and health and is definitely something i will be looking at when moving on with my design ideas.
In my opinion this design is very outdated and appeals to the older generation because of the serif typeface, and the garish green colour that appeals to older people as it is very dated. However i feel that the use of the corn is innovative however and is an effective touch however i feel this is also dated and appeals to the younger generation.
This logo is to promote healthier living, i feel this design is in effective that is because of the colours used within the illustration and the typographic elements, the colours to me look childish, however i feel that the innovative use of the family icons as letterforms.
