I have decided to look at a range of work that has already been produced for fedrigoni, this will enlighten me on the design direction that has already been pursued, this will hopefully give me and andy an idea of what has not been done beofre allowing us to create somthign that is truley innovative.
We will also be taking inspiration on how the designs are constructed for example the design above shows how the paper is folded and then stacked on top of one another. this makes for a design that has a beautifully clean aesthetic. Making sure that there are no messy edges on show. making the design look like a solid structure.
Again as you can see below the main structure has additional detail that is applied to the top, this is something that we could definitely take into consideration when applying delicate details to our designs.
I have also looked into the scale of the designs that have already been created, As shown below some are created to a large scale these are used as single pieces. The Design is un able to be transported so therefor is not really appropriate for what we are required to create. I must make sure that i take distribution and production into consideration as this design would be distributed to studios and printers. We must make sure that our designs can be produced and distributed simply.
The design below shows how the design can be constructed and how a package can be used to encase smaller more delicate designs. This packaging assists in terms of protection when delivered.
A packaging design is something that we will definitely come into consideration as i feel that our initial idea will definitely need protection in term of delivery.
The designs above and below show how print techniques can be applied to the stock i feel there is no better way to display the versatility and quality of a paper than displaying the techniques with this paper for example the brief explains how you should sow how our paper can be used for a wide range of finishes. There is no better way to communicate this rather than actually executing this.
The images below displays the most effective design created for fedrigoni in my opinion, the brief was to create a campaign that displayed the high quality of fedrigoni papers. This design not only shows the wide range of papers on offer but also displays the versatility of of the paper by the way the design is constructed and the print techniques that are used onit.
The simplistic layout design is effective in my opinion it makes sure that the design as a whole does not become overcrowded, and in turn overpowering to the viewer as the design is going to be be very intricate i feel the layout of the rest of the design should be simplistic and use a larege amount of negitive space.
I feel that the design direction shown below is very effective in terms of getting the viewer involved this is something that we will definitely take into consideration, I feel this is a very clean and effective method of doing so.
The designs below show how effective a construction concept can be i feel that if the final design is constructed to a really high standard it will inspire the viewer to want to construct their own. This is something we can definitely take into consideration for our design outcome.
Work that has been created to promote our closest competitors, I have looked at work that has been created for Gfsmith these are known for being the biggest rivals for Fedrigoni. I feel that it is a necessity for me to look at what has already been created by Gfsmith making sure that we can take a design direction that is completely different i feel that from looking at these existing design and feel that GfSmith take a very corporate serious approach although the designs are executed beautifully i feel that we should create something going in the opposite direction something fun something that will stand out and be memorable.
