Seminar: Postmodernidst GD, Modernist GD:

Task was to go away and select an example of modernist and post modernist Graphic Design, and then give reasoning for your choice: 

Modernist:


The example above is a Modernist style editorial spread called "Neue Grafik" and was created by Muller Brochmann in 2007.
The modernist style is apparent due to instant theme of form following function the key theme is to communicate the content in a highly readable and legible manner this also allows the designs to have a clean finish overall. 


Post Modernist: 


This example shows Post modernist GD it is a poster for a lecture that was created by Allen Hori in 1989  and is named "Typography as discourse" the post modernist style is displayed by the overall inconsistence and irregularity of the design this means there is no hierarchy to the design causing confusion, however this means the design can be interpreted in any way in which the viewer chooses. creating a much more interactive piece.
